Blog started
I added blog to this page to inform all interested parties about progress of my project.
So far I have created my lib, set up this wiki for it, posted about it on newsgroup comp.infosystems.www.authoring.html and on dzone.com, got reposted by someone on reddit.com. I tried to actively respond to any comments arising. Some of the people seemed interested, some supportive, but most were just angered by my idea. On dzone I got voted down more times than I got voted up.
I got around 1500 visits and traffic peak died off to almost zero after 5 days. I haven't got single click on my adsense commercials or a single donation via PayPal. All that discouraged me a little. I stopped caring about this wiki and let the discussions bords for the pages be overtaken by spambots.
I think I've made few mistakes:
- I have not provided real world examples of use of my library.
- I posted too many versions of the lib where I should've kept it simple (one self contained version, not minified, not zipped).
I have not stopped development of BraveLayout.js (it's very useful, all my projects written since it's creation use it) but I stopped updating version on this page.
But I think I'm ready now to give this another shot. I've cleaned up spam, secured form for posting comments. I've set up this blog. Soon I'm going to post here more recent version of my lib and document all the new features I have added. I'm also going to sum up in the faq all the concerns that showed up.
